Dr. Anna Irene Baka presented her paper, "Constitutional Authenticity as Temporal and Narrative Intersubjectivity," at the 2026 Global Political Thought Conference, held at East China Normal University in Shanghai from 16 to 19 June 2026. She delivered her presentation during the conference panel "Speech and/as Act" and also served as chair of the panel on "Thought Experiments across Cultures and Conditions." The paper develops a phenomenological account of constitutional identity and authenticity, arguing that constitutional communities maintain continuity through shared experiences of time, memory, and collective self-understanding rather than through constitutional texts, institutions, or legal procedures alone.
